An iconic cultural space that unites sustainability, community and contemporary design
Sara Cultural Centre is a multipurpose building in the Swedish city of Skellefteå, serving as a theater, library, art gallery, and even a museum. It's a flexible space with a unique design that can be used as a whole for a large event or as separate, interconnected spaces.
The main objective of this project was to demonstrate that it was possible to construct a large, high-quality, sustainable building without compromising its final aesthetic. The aim was to create an open space that would invite the community to participate. The building was designed by the Swedish architecture firm White Arkitekter, which specializes in ecologically and socially sustainable projects.
